Friends of Yolo Basin Foundation ensure our programs continue to provide unique wetlands, wildlife, and educational experiences for thousands of children and adults annually! Our Friends also provide critical support of conservation efforts in the Yolo Bypass. We are dependent on our individual supporters who typically provide over 35% of our total revenue. Our sustaining members, who provide automatic contributions monthly or annually, help sustain us year-round.
As a Friend of Yolo Basin Foundation, you will have the opportunity to experience the impact of your contributions through our many programs, and participate in special Friends events including our popular Winter Waterfowl and Summer Solstice excursions in the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area.

Who is a Friend of Yolo Basin Foundation?
A Friend of Yolo Basin Foundation is any individual or household who donates $25 or more within the last twelve months, based on a cumulative total.
How often should I give?
The frequency of your financial contribution is entirely up to you. You can give at any time – once per year, or several times each year, during special campaigns, etc.
What is a sustaining contributor and I should I give this way?
Our sustaining financial contributors donate automatically monthly or annually by using a debit or credit card. Recurring donations can also be made monthly, via an automatic check. This is a convenient way for you to give while helping YBF maintain a steady stream of income throughout the year.
May I donate through a Donor Advised Fund or an IRA account?
You certainly may. You can contribute through Donor Advised Funds (DAF), IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD), or Required Minimum Distributions (RMD). Donating in one of these ways may have tax benefits for you.
May I donate through stock sales?
Yes, you may. Reach out to Pam Emery, Yolo Basin Foundation’s fund development coordinator, for more information.
Are companies or organizations considered Friends of Yolo Basin Foundation?
No, but we do have opportunities for them to give. They may make a financial contribution at any time or become Annual, Bucks for Ducks and/or California Duck Days sponsors, which come with special benefits.
