A wetland is an area of land that is covered by water at least part of the year. Wetlands have unique plants that are adapted to live in wet soil.

Wetlands are found in many places including along waterways and in floodplains. Bonus: Wetlands can be found on every continent in the world except Antarctica.
- What is something wetlands do to help an ecosystem?
Wetlands do many things to help an ecosystem including filtering water, providing flood and erosion control, and providing habitat for animals.
