In February 2022, Yolo Basin Foundation received $2.5 million in State funding to launch the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area Public Access & Education Capital Improvement Project. Today, we’re thrilled to share that the project is nearing completion!
Construction is now in its final stages, with nearly all new structures installed. Our renovated headquarters will soon include a brand-new office trailer, five purpose-built program structures, a large central pavilion, new activity stations, and additional improvements that will enhance both visitor experience and staff capacity.
Updated signage for the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area has been ordered and is scheduled for installation in the next month or two. Meanwhile, our new Mobile Visitor Center is in the final stages of fabrication and expected to begin supporting programs within the next few weeks.
We anticipate the entire Capital Improvement Project will be completed in January 2025.
